So, in 2010 there are apparently only 2 types of people in the world - football fans and football haters.

Footy fans who are yet to get their trip to South Africa booked haven't left it too late. There are still reasonably priced packages around to get you here before, during or after the World Cup - if you are quick. You can watch all the games from a different African city each time if you like! The flight prices are enough to make a vital part of your anatomy uncontrollably tighten - but a chat with your local flight centre could prove surprisingly beneficial.

Football haters are in for a treat! Cheap flights will bring you into the rest of Africa, cheap tours will get you around, and with half the world 'down south' imagine how quiet and easy it will be 'up north'. More for you next month - stay tuned!

As a (fairly) average Kiwi, football is not too high on the list of sports to go crazy over - rugby is, and you are a fan before you are toilet trained. BUT even I have got the T-Shirt, tickets and Vuvuzela at the ready. This football fever is definitely contagious!
